Oh! Cy Twombly died Tuesday.
That reminded me. Not quite sad. Poignant, like his paintings. One feels he wanted to go there anyway, or at least was familiar with the place.
These are different. Not as much sentimentality as his (though at the height of my adoration for him, it hit exactly the right note, that yearning, like no other did). These are more factual, which I like. In that sense they seem more actual. Less about reaching than illuminating.
I wish I could see the real thing, but will sit with these for a while.
