made it after we spoke. thought i would surprise you with two posts in a row. this painting is a combination of death, a ship, say like the ferryman, and adventure into the unknown ummm as in the pheonicians, whom i admire.

LOVE this one! Love it immediately, feels like an unexplainable but very real object in a dream. So real--more real than anything--in a dream, but then unexplainable upon waking.

I heart it more than the other one because it seems more from the heart.

Or maybe it was all that talk about Franz Kline (did we talk about Franz Kline?)that made me see it in that context. So it seemed referential though very well done, in the time-line of an ideum [sic], so to speak, and a grasping, whereas this one is the thing itself.

Or maybe it's just that I luvs it.

A friend of ours died this afternoon. He is on this ship.
